Hiroshima Carp

  • The offense recorded eleven hits on Tuesday against the Yokohama Bay Stars.  It was their seventh straight game with at least ten hits.  The franchise record of eight was set in 1972 and tied in 2004. Source: Daily Sports 8/19/2014

Chunichi Dragons

  • Kenta Asakura will most likely be taken off the active roster due to performance issues.  He gave up five runs (all earned) on seven hits and two walks over two innings of work against Hanshin on Tuesday. Source: Sports Hochi 8/19/2014
  • Masahiro Yamamoto started a Ni-gun game against Orix on Tuesday.  He gave up four runs on six hits over five innings of work.  He threw eighty-four pitches.  It was his first start since he turned forty-nine. Source: Nikkan Sports 8/19/2014

Yakult Swallows

  • Tony Barnette and Wladimir Balentien were seen arguing in the dugout after Balentien appeared to take his time on a hit to left with a runner on first and two out in the 9th. Source: Sanspo 8/19/2014
  • Yasuhiro Ogawa is making adjustments to his mechanics involving his leg kick.  He told reporters he was being too careful with his kick because he was concerned about his balance.  He is working on going back to the way he was throwing the ball last year.  His next start will most likely come on the 24th against Yokohama.
