Chiba Lotte Marines

  • Kazuya Fukuura hurt his left index finger while catching a foul ball in the 7th inning of Thursday's game against the Orix Buffaloes at QVC Marine.  He was pulled from the game and taken to a hospital in Narashino for tests.  He was diagnosed with a dislocated index finger (distal interphalangeal joint).  No word on how long it might take for a full recovery, but he could be okay to play within a few days.  He is considered day-to-day. Source: Sports Hochi 8/21/2014, Nikkan Sports 8/21/2014, Sponichi 8/21/2014

I’m still waiting for any info about Seibu Lions relief pitcher Michael Bowden… I haven’t seen that he pitched in the last few weeks… Is he injured or just being left out of games for some reason. Does anyone have any info on him? I am a friend from Illinois, USA and would like to hear something about him… ??? Thanks

I posted this in response before (http://yakyubaka.com/2014/08/15/hokkaido-nippon-ham-fighters-vs-saitama-seibu-lions-august-15-2014/#comment-1124553), but since it seems you missed it, I’ll re-post it here:

Bowden was taken off the active roster on the 7th.

As far as I know, he isn’t hurt. He did pitch in two Ni-gun since the 7th: on the 9th against Nippon Ham (1 IP, 5 BF, 1 H, 1 BB, 0 HBP, 1 SO, 0 ER) and 12th against Yakult (1 IP, 3 BF, 0 H, 0 BB, 0 HBP, 2 SO, 0 ER).

I think I read somewhere that they wants to give some of the younger talent a look in August and September. His absence could just be a part of that.

If you don’t already know about his Twitter account, I think this is it – https://twitter.com/bowden_michael
