[8/27/2014] Injury Report: Tatsuro Hamada (Chunichi), Zach Phillips (Hiroshima)

Hiroshima Carp

  • The Carp announced that Zach Phillips will return to the United States on Thursday for additional testing on his knee.  There is no timetable on his return to Japan. Source: Sponichi 8/27/2014

Chunichi Dragons

  • Hitoki Iwase was examined at a hospital on the 25th and diagnosed with some damaged muscle near his left elbow.  He was able to play some light catch on Wednesday.  No timetable has been set on his return. Source: Sanspo 8/27/2014

Chiba Lotte Marines

  • Luis Cruz felt some tightness in his right hamstring while running out a double in the 4th inning of Wednesday's game against the Orix Buffaloes.  He was replaced by a pinch-runner as a pre-caution. Source: Nikkan Sports 8/27/2014
  • Takuya Furuya will be taken off the active roster on Thursday with pain in his left shoulder.
