The Pacific League is considering options for the extra time they might end up having in between the end of the regular season and the start of the Climax Series beginning next year, since they will have fewer Inter-league games to play (from twenty-four to eighteen).  One team official told reporters they thought it might be interesting to schedule exhibition games against teams from Korea and Taiwan.

The NPB and the Japan Professional Baseball Players Association met on Thursday to discuss a number of issues.  Among them:

  • Working together to help victims of the Hiroshima landslide
  • Increasing Ni-gun games by adding more Inter-league games between the Western League and Eastern League
  • Placing age limits (twenty-five and younger) on some games to ensure younger players get a chance to play
