Seibu Lions

  • Makoto Aiuchi started a Ni-gun game against Yomiuri on August 31 and recorded a complete game victory (9 IP, 35 BF, 6 H, 2 BB, 9 SO, 1 ER). The Lions could give Aiuchi a start some time after the Lions complete a ten-game stretch that begins on the 2nd. Source: Nikkan Sports 9/2/2014 ... A start during the Rakuten series that begins on the 13th at Seibu Dome is a possibility.   • Hiroyuki Nakajima rumors: The Lions are interested in bringing Nakajima back to Saitama, if he decides to return to Japan next year. They could be willing to offer him three or more years. Source: Nikkan Sports 9/2/2014 ... The Lions see Nakajima as either a third baseman or shortstop. If he gets third, Takeya Nakamura and Ernesto Mejia could share first and DH, Hideto Asamura could take second, and a combination of Yuji Onizaki, Naoto Watanabe, and Kyohei Nagae could get starts at short.
