[9/5/2014] 1st France International Baseball Tournament – Yoshida Challenge – Japan finishes in third

The 1st France International Baseball Tournament kicked off on Thursday with an exhibition game between Japan (Seino Unyu, Inter-city Tournament Champions) and France. Hanshin old timer and former French national baseball team manager Yoshio Yoshida and Japan's Ambassador to France Yoichi Suzuki threw out ceremonial first pitches. Japan dropped the game, 8-7.

        Interesting, I see some familiar names from Holland’s WBC teams on their roster, Cordemans, Schoop, Smith, Sams and current major/minor leaguer Roger Bernadina.
        I would think they would be the favorite.

    The site mentions that:
    #netherlands line up includes 11 professionals
    #tournament received recognition from world baseball federation and results will be used in international ranking
    #first game was exhibition only and won t count
    #tickets are probably still available if someone is reading from france!
