The NPB held an owner meeting in Tokyo on Friday. Among issues discussed:
- Japan could end up hosting some of the Premier 12 games next year (like the Finals round).
- The subcommittee in charge of preparations for the establishment of the Samurai Japan operations company provided an interim report on their progress. The NPB and twelve teams will invest three to five million yen some time in early November. The subcommittee will begin checking on candidates for personnel.
- The subcommittee in charge of restructuring the NPB is proposing three main offices: management, operations, and administration. An international department will be established to handle international games. A chairman's office, under supervision of the commissioner, and a baseball promotions office will also be created.
NPB teams will be donating one million yen each to Hiroshima landslide relief. Rakuten and Hiroshima have already sent donations.
