Kyushu Sangyo Daigaku Fuzoku Kyushu Sangyo High School withdrew from the Kyushu Fukuoka Nanbu tournament due bullying.
According to school officials, a second-year student on the team inserted multiple pill-bugs into a first-year teammate's mouth during practices in June and July. Separately in July, four second-year students on the team struck two first-year teammates multiple times in the buttocks while in the school dormitory.
The incidents came to light when parents of the first-year teammates contacted the school. The Kyushu High School Baseball Federation received a report from Kyushu Sangyo on August 31. The five second-year students were removed from the team. The baseball manager and director were given three months suspensions (no working with the team).
