Boston Red Sox
The latest on Koji Uehara, from the Providence Journal's Brian MacPherson:
Koji Uehara played long toss on Monday and threw a bullpen Tuesday, two steps toward returning to games. Uehara had been shut down for three days in the aftermath of a blown save at Yankee Stadium last Thursday, his third blown save in two weeks and the sixth straight outing in which he'd allowed at least one run.
Uehara might throw one more bullpen session, but the Red Sox might next ask him to pitch in a game — albeit in a low-leverage situation.

New York Yankees
The latest on Masahiro Tanaka, from the New York Post's Dan Martin:
... "I'm not overly worried," Tanaka said through an interpreter about the chances of having another setback following the 45-pitch session before the Yankees' 4-3 loss to the Rays. "I'm a bit concerned because of what happened in Detroit, but when I was throwing [Tuesday] it was a completely … different feel than in Detroit. I think I'll be OK."
... Outfielder Chris Young faced Tanaka on May 14, when Tanaka shut out the Mets at Citi Field, and he didn't see much of a difference when he saw him Tuesday.
... Austin Romine, Zelous Wheeler and Antoan Richardson also had at-bats against Tanaka. Hardly a Murderers' Row, but no one got a hit in the three-inning game.
