Various news updates:

  • Base Walls were donated to Toyokawa Teno Elementary School in Aichi on September 11 (Chunichi) and Sendai Yumoto Elementary School in Miyagi on September 18 (Rakuten). Source: Nikkan Sports 9/11/2014, Nikkan Sports 9/18/2014
  • According to Sanspo, the Central League essentially gave the Pacific League two options when it came to the Inter-league schedule: either agree to an eighteen game season or none at all. And while the CL did want to shorten the schedule because of timing issues, they may have also been upset about the PL's relative success during Inter-league play. Source: Sanspo 9/13/2014
  • The NPB and the twelve NPB teams are planning to establish a company to handle the business side of things for Samurai Japan in early November. They have informally decided to name the new company NPB Enterprise. Samurai Japan was left out of the name because the new company will ultimately to take on other projects to promote baseball.   • SEC Carbon (Kyoto) beat Keiyo Ginko (Chiba) 1-0 in the finals game of the 69th Emperor's Cup All Japan Rubber Baseball ENEOS Tournament on Wednesday (September 17). Source: Sponichi 9/18/2014
