Hanshin Tigers

  • Shintaro Fujinami picked up his tenth victory of the year on Friday and became the first player out of high school to record at least ten victories in each of his first two seasons in the NPB since Daisuke Matsuzaka in 1999 (sixteen victories) and 2000 (fourteen victories). The last pitcher to accomplish the feat in the Central League (and in franchise history) was Yutaka Enatsu in 1967 (twelve victories) and 1968 (twenty-five victories).
