Rakuten Eagles

  • Hiromoto Okubo is planning to play a number of eight-on-eight intra-squad games during fall camp. He believes one less player forces everyone to focus and think more about what they need to do on the field. Veteran players will get opportunities to "draft" and manage their teams. • The Eagles announced that Sho Miyagawa (24) had surgery on his right elbow. Assuming no setbacks, he should be able to resume playing catch in January and begin tossing bullpen sessions in April. He could play in his first rehab game in May. He will return to Rakuten next season with an Ikusei contract. Source: Nikkan Sports 10/28/2014

Seibu Lions

  • Chun-Lin Kuo is slated to pitch in a batting practice scrimmage on Wednesday. Tomoya Mori will be one of the hitters he faces. Counts will start at 1-1. Source: Sports Hochi 10/28/2014
