Hanshin Tigers

  • Takumi Akiyama tossed two bullpen sessions on Saturday. He threw fifty-three pitches in his first session and about fifty pitches in his second. Source: Nikkan Sports 11/1/2014
  • Shintaro Fujinami will rest until the 4th and resume workouts on the 5th at Naruohama. Source: Nikkan Sports 11/1/2014
  • Tsuyoshi Nishioka will have surgery to clean out his right elbow. He started having problems with his elbow during spring camp this year. Surgery was an option, but he did not want to miss the start of the season and opted for rehab, treatment, and medication to tide him over to the off-season. Assuming no problems after the procedure, he should be okay for spring camp. Source: Daily Sports 11/1/2014 ... According to Sponichi, Nishioka will have the surgery on the 11th.   • Daichi Osera wants to continue polishing his splitter. He tried it out during spring camp this year but could not get it to the point where he could use it in games.
