Rakuten Eagles

  • Lucas Irvine (25) and Pete Parise (29) each got starts in Saturday's intra-squad game. Irvine started the game for the Whites and gave up two runs on three hits over an inning of work. He topped out at 145km/h. Parise started the game for the Reds and did not allow a run or a hit over an inning. He did walk two. Tryouts for Irvine and Parise are slated to continue through to the 13th. Source: Nikkan Sports 11/8/2014
  • Alejandro Segovia (24) joined the Eagles for his tryout on Saturday. He swung the bat twenty-two times during batting practice and hit two over the fence. His tryout will run though to the 17th. Source: Nikkan Sports 11/8/2014
  • The Reds beat the Whites 6-4 in a special seven inning intra-squad game on Friday. They will play a total five eight-on-eight intra-squad game until the 19th. The losing team will have to jog/run back to the team hotel after the game (five to six kilometer distance). Source: Sports Hochi 11/8/2014 ... Yasuhito Uchida entered the game on defense in the 4th and went 2-for-2 with two RBI for the Whites: RBI double to center off Yoshitaka Muto in his first at bat in the 5th inning and an RBI single to left in the 6th.   • Ni-gun spring camp will most likely take place at two locations next year. Camp will begin in Kumejima, Okinawa as usual. After about three weeks, the team will head to Hyuga, Miyazaki and continue their training at Daiodani Sports Park. The change should allow the Ni-gun team to play more practice games during spring camp. Source: Sports Hochi 11/8/2014

Softbank Hawks

  • The Hawks announced on Saturday that they were parting ways with Ichi-gun pitching coach Shinichi Kato and San-gun conditioning coach Motozumi Kitsunai. Source: official announcement
