  • Yuki Matsui pitched in an intra-squad game on Sunday. He entered the game in the 6th and tossed two shutout innings while allowing three hits. He also struck out three. One of Matsui's problems this season was maintaining his composure on the mound with runners on base. He managed to make his way out of jams in the two innings he pitched: runners on first and third and no out in the 6th and a runner on third and one out in the 7th. Source: Sponichi 11/17/2014 ...   • Shota Oba returned to the Saitozaki facilities on Sunday and joined the rehab group for workouts because he suffered a strain in his right hamstring. He will be checked out at a hospital. Source: Daily Sports 11/17/2014
  • Yuya Iida threw sixty-five pitches in the bullpen on Sunday. Iida has been overhauling his mechanics with help from Ichi-gun pitching coach Yoshinori Sato. He told reporters changes in his delivery allowed him to throw the ball without getting tired. Source: Nikkan Sports 11/16/2014

Nippon Ham Fighters

  • Atsunori Inaba (42) will continue to wear the number forty-one during events that require him to wear a uniform. He will be a sports community officer.
