Yomiuri Giants

  • Tatsunori Hara is planning to use Kentaro Nishimura as a starter next season. Nishimura has not started a game since 2011. Source: Sanspo 11/17/2014

Hanshin Tigers

  • Shintaro Fujinami is planning to rest his arm by shutting things down until the end of the winter. He will focus on general training in December. He might play some catch, but will not throw any bullpen sessions for the rest of the year. Source: Nikkan Sports 11/18/2014, Daily Sports 11/18/2014, Sponichi 11/18/2014 ... Fujinami feels the number of bullpen sessions tossed is more important than the number of pitches tossed. Hiroshima Carp

  • Keijiro Matsumoto and Kisho Kagami will be getting new uniform numbers. Matsumoto's number will change from 6 to 61, Kagami's from 21 to either 67 or 68. The number 6 will remain unused.
