Softbank Hawks

  • Kimiyasu Kudo might have position players, particularly infielders, throw in the bullpen during spring camp to make sure they remember how to use their entire body when throwing the ball. Source: Sponichi 12/31/2014
  • Samurai Japan manger Hiroki Kokubo believes Daisuke Matsuzaka (34) is a candidate for the Samurai Japan roster. "In terms of age, he's still capable. I'm looking forward to seeing him pitch," said Kokubo. He added, "The last few seasons have been rough, but he's coming back to Japan as a starter. He first needs to make the starting rotation with the Hawks by recapturing his old glory." Source: Nikkan Sports 12/29/2014

Orix Buffaloes

  • It will be harder to reassign players during spring camp since Group A (Ichi-gun) will be training in Miyazaki and Group B (Ni-gun) will be training in Miyakojima. Hiroshi Moriwaki wants to make sure he makes the appropriate assignments and is planning to delay the announcements by about a week. He has also asked his coaches to keep track of their players in December and January. Source: Nikkan Sports 12/31/2014

Nippon Ham Fighters

  • Sho Nakata will most likely continue to split playing time at three positions (left field, first base, designated hitter) in 2015 due to problems with his legs (hamstring, knee). Source: Nikkan Sports 12/31/2014
