Hanshin Tigers

  • Yutaka Wada told guests at a New Year's event on Friday that he planned to give Shintaro Fujinami a start during the opening series against the Chunichi Dragons (March 27-29). • Sanspo wonders if part of the reason why Toritani ended up staying with the Tigers had to do with his agent, Scott Boras. Or, if the fact that Toritani selected Boras signified a decision to think more about his future than about fulfilling a dream. Bottom line: if he really wanted to play in the United States, he could have. Source: Sanspo 1/10/2015 ... Toritani may have agreed to a five-year deal worth an estimated two billion yen.
