Softbank Hawks

  • Team chairman Sadaharu Oh made an appearance on TBS's Sunday Morning and spoke about Ichiro Suzuki and Munenori Kawasaki. on Ichiro: "After accomplishing so much in Japan and America, I don't think he has any interest in returning to Japan to play." On Kawasaki: "I asked him if he wanted to play for us. We ate a lot of meals together." Oh also said that the organization offered him more than ten times in salary.  Source: Sanspo 1/18/2015

Chiba Lotte Marines

  • Second round draft pick Eisuke Tanaka threw twenty-five pitches to a standing catcher in the bullpen on Sunday. Fourth round draft pick Kandai Terashima caught the session.   • Third round draft pick Daiki Iwashita tossed a bullpen session at the Urawa facilities on Sunday. He threw thirty pitches to a standing catcher at about sixty percent. It was his first session since turning professional. Source: Nikkan Sports 1/18/2015
  • The Musashi Heat Bears (BC League) announced that they came to terms with former Lotte Kota Sumi (24). Source: official announcement

Seibu Lions

  • Hotaka Yamakawa worked out with Norichika Aoki for nine days beginning on the 7th and was told to avoid getting into the habit of using just his hands to swing the bat. Source: Nikkan Sports 1/18/2015
  • First round draft pick Kona Takahashi will most likely be assigned to Group B (Ni-gun) spring camp. The other members of the 2014 draft class will also most likely start at Group B camp. Source: Sports Hochi 1/18/2015
