  • Players were split into six teams of twelve to thirteen during Thursday's athletic meet on the beach. Groups were decided based on position: right-handed pitchers one (captain - Koji Aoyama), right-handed pitchers two (captain - Shinichiro Koyama), left-handed pitchers (captain - Takashi Kawai), catchers (captain - Keiji Oyama), infielders (captain - Mitsutaka Goto), and outfielders (captain - Kazuo Matsui). There were rewards/punishments based on final standings: the top team gets to skip running the following day while all other teams get extra running (amount determined by standings).
