Yokohama vs Hanshin

  • Kentaro Takasaki started the game for Yokohama and gave up one run on seven hits over five innings of work.
  • Hisanori Takahashi tossed a shutout inning in relief for Yokohama and allowed one hit.
  • Fourth round draft pick Motoharu Fukuchi pitched one inning in relief for Yokohama and retired three in a row.
  • Jose Lopez got the start at first and batted fifth. He went 1-for-2 with an RBI: single to center in the 2nd and with runners on second and third and one out in the 6th, he hit a sac fly to left to give Yokohama a 2-1 lead.
  • Takayuki Kajitani got the start in right and batted third. He went down quietly in his first two at bats before he hit a double to center off Atsushi Nomi in the 6th. He was replaced by a pinch-runner after he reached base on the double.
  • Fifth round draft pick Koki Yamashita entered the game partway through. He recorded a single to center off Daiki Enokida in the 7th and worked out a walk in the 9th.
  • Randy Messenger started the game for Hanshin and gave up a run on four hits over three innings of work. He topped out at 150km/h.
  • Atsushi Nomi relieved Messenger gave up a run on three hits over three innings. The run came on two doubles and a sac fly in the 6th.
  • Daiki Enokida entered the game in the 7th and did not allow a run in an inning of work. He did give up two hits.
  • Hiroki Uemoto got the start at second and batted third. He went 3-for-4: single to center in the 1st, singles to right in the 3rd and 7th.
  • Mauro Gomez was the starting designated hitter for Hanshin and batted clean-up. He recorded two doubles: double to left in the 1st and an RBI double to left in the 3rd. He was replaced by pinch-runner Masahiro Nakatani after his second double.
  • Yamato started in center and batted second. He went 3-for-5 for Hanshin: double to left in the 3rd, single to right and a stolen base in the 5th, hit a double to right-center in the 7th.
  • Hayata Ito went 0-for-4.
  • Fumiya Hojo entered the game partway through and went 1-for-2 with a sac hit. He hit into a double play in the 7th and committed an error.
