Softbank Hawks

  • Kyoiku League game against Hanshin on March 5: Kazuyuki Hoashi gave up three runs (two earned) on six hits over five innings. Hayato Terahara tossed three shutout innings while allowing two hits.   • The Marines want to develop second round draft pick Eisuke Tanaka as a starter, not a reliever. If he does not make the opening day starting rotation, he will start the year at Ni-gun.   • Kyoiku League game against Seibu on March 5: Manabu Mima started the game and tossed five shutout innings. He allowed one hit, walked one, and struck out three. Mima's next outing will most likely be at Ichi-gun. Source: Sports Hochi 3/5/2015 ... Kazuo Matsui got the start in center and batted lead-off. It was the first time he played center in his professional career. He handled one opportunity without any difficulty. His day ended after five innings. ... Hiroshi Katayama entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the 6th and flied out to center. He fouled off four pitches from Kenta Matsushita and flied out on the seventh pitch.
