Yomiuri Giants

  • Toshiya Sugiuchi missed his start on March 6 because he slept on his neck wrong. He is now slated to pitch in an exhibition game against Lotte on March 15. Source: Sponichi 3/7/2015

Hanshin Tigers

Hiroshima Carp

  • There is a good chance Kosuke Tanaka will be the opening day shortstop. Tanaka and Eishin Soyogi have been completing for the job at short this spring. Source: Daily Sports 3/7/2015
  • Hiroki Kuroda will most likely make a bulk of starts on five to six days of rest. He is open to pitching on four days of rest, if necessary, and will prepare accordingly. Hiroshima has not ruled out the possibility of starting the veteran on four days of rest and could turn to him during vital stretches or against important opponents. Source: Daily Sports 3/7/2015

Chunichi Dragons

  • Ni-gun practice game against Seino Unyu on March 6: Ryosuke Hirata got the start in right and batted clean-up. He recorded two hits and an RBI. In four games at Ni-gun after spring camp, Hirata is 6-for-17 with three RBI. Source: Nikkan Sports 3/7/2015
