The NPB, Baseball Federation of Japan, and the Japan Softball Association created a promotional video for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. The video will be aired during the Spring Koshien and during NPB games. Sadaharu Oh, Shigeo Nagashima, Hideki Matsui are among some of the people in the video. There are three versions of the video at vary lengths (fifteen, thirty, and sixty seconds).

- Japan Amateur Baseball Association vice president Yoshinobu Suzuki feels it might be good to implement seven-inning rules to some of their tournaments as way to prepare for the possibility of baseball returning to the 2020 Olympics under new rules. Samurai Japan is planning to schedule a practice game at Jingu Stadium between the university and top teams on June 29 as a way for the university team to prepare for the 2015 Universiade. The top team will most likely be made up of younger players since the NPB will be in the middle of a season.
