  • Kiyoshi Nakahata is planning to give third round draft pick Toshihiko Kuramoto the start at short, batting seventh, on opening day.   • The Bay Stars made preparations for Yulieski Gurriel and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. to arrive in Japan on March 26 by filing the necessary paperwork and having it ready for the two brothers to pick up at the Japanese embassy in Cuba, but they never showed. Yokohama was informed that the two brothers were hurt (Yulieski his right hamstring and Loudes his left wrist) and would not be traveling to Japan until they were healthy.
