Yomiuri Giants

  • All nine players in the starting line-up on July 11 recorded at least one hit against the Hanshin Tigers. Eight players, including substitute Hirokazu Ibata, recorded at least one RBI. The last time every player in the starting line-up recorded at least one hit was against Hiroshima on April 26, 2014. The last time eight players recorded at least one RBI was against Yokohama on August 25, 2013. Ibata hit a home run in the 7th and became the sixth Yomiuri player over forty to hit a home run, first since Yoshinobu Takahashi earlier this season. This was the first time in franchise history that two players over forty hit home runs in the same season. Through July 11, the Yomiuri Giants had 999 victories at Tokyo Dome. Hanshin Tigers

  • Ni-gun game against Orix on July 12: Suguru Iwazaki started the game and picked up the first complete game victory of his Ni-gun career. He pitched nine innings, faced thirty-four hitters, allowed a run on seven hits, walked none, and struck out eight. Source: Nikkan Sports 7/12/2015 ...   • Shintaro Fujinami tied a career high by allowing seven runs during his start against the Yomiuri Giants on July 11. He gave up seven runs during a Hiroshima game at Koshien earlier this year on May 8. All seven runs on July 11 were earned. That set a new career high for the righty. Fujinami is 2-6 against the Giants over his career. He won his first start at Tokyo Dome on August 4, 2013, but has since gone 0-5 in five games. Source: Nikkan Sports 7/12/2015 ... Hiroshima Carp

  • Kenta Maeda was taken off the active roster on July 12 for rest and because he is not scheduled to pitch for at least ten days. The move also gave the Carp space to call up Shota Dobayashi.
