Yomiuri Giants

  • Toshiya Sugiuchi was sent down to Ni-gun on July 23 for adjustments (he gave up seven runs on fourteen hits and three walks over ten innings in his last two starts). Tetsuya Utsumi will most likely be called up to take his spot on the active roster. He tossed eight shutout innings against Ni-gun Yokohama on July 22 and could get a start on July 29 on six days of rest against Ichi-gun Yokohama at Kyocera Dome. Hanshin Tigers

  • Through July 23, Atsushi Nomi is 20-16 against the Yomiuri Giants. He became the eighth pitcher in franchise history to win at least twenty games against the Giants (sixth in franchise history since the two league format began). Source: Nikkan Sports 7/23/2015 ...   • The Uru-Tora and Retired Number Uniforms Charity Auction will take place between July 24 and August 9. Proceeds will go to the Japanese Red Cross Society in Hyogo. Source: official announcement

Hiroshima Carp

  • Hiroki Kuroda was originally penciled in for a start against Yomiuri on July 24. Kenta Maeda was pushed back to July 24 after his start on July 22 was rained out. Kuroda's next start will most likely come on July 28 against Yakult. Yuya Fukui and Kris Johnson will get the remaining two starts against the Giants on July 25 and 26, respectively.   • Jesus Guzman joined Ichi-gun workouts at Mazda Stadium on July 23. He is expected to make the active roster in time for the Yomiuri series that begins on July 24. Source: Daily Sports 7/23/2015
  • The Carp will host an Akai Hane (Red Feather Community Chest) game on September 10. Fans attending the game will receive Akai Hane themed Carp stickers. The bases will be decorated with a red feather and the Carp logo. Players, coaches, and umpires will wear a red feather on their left sleeve. Source: official announcement

Yokohama Bay Stars

  • Owner Tomoko Namba spoke to reporters on July 22 and said she was not only satisfied with Nakahata's performance this year, but also over the last three years.
