The NPB announced a Cool Share Month in August as part of Japan's Cool Choice and Cool Share project. The project aims to increase awareness of the enviroment by getting people to actively participate in programs designed to help lower carbon emissions and electricity use. The NPB will be focusing on one program in particular: conserving energy by calling on individuals and families to take advantage of air conditioned public facilities and stores.
The NPB will donate one yen toward environmental activities for every person that attends a game between August 18 and 31. One player from every NPB team will participate in a video campaign to promote Cool Share. The videos will be posted to YouTube in early August. Teams will also be asked to put up posters promoting Cool Share at stadiums.
