Softbank Hawks

  • The Hawks announced that they will wear their yellow Taka-no Saiten uniforms during seven home games in September (unless the league pennant is on the line): September 4-6 against Rakuten, September 17 against Seibu, and September 18-20 against Lotte. Source: official announecement

Orix Buffaloes

  • The Buffaloes lost a game on a "walk-off passed ball" by Hikaru Ito against Lotte on August 5. Three other Pacific League games have ended on walk-off passed balls: Kintetsu's Mitsuo Takeshita against Hankyu on April 23, 1961; Hankyu's Tsuyoshi Uchida against Nankai on April 19, 1988; and Lotte's Masahiko Jozume against Orix on June 12, 1994.   • The BC League's Gunma Diamond Pegasus set up a retirement game of Orix roving adviser Alex Ramirez on August 2. Ramirez made the starting line-up against the Musashi Heat Bears at designated hitter and batted clean-up. He went 1-for-5 with one RBI. Attendance was listed as 3,321. The game ended in a 3-3 tie. Seibu Lions

  • The Lions announced that they are going to send Kyohei Maegawa to the BC League to play for the Musashi Heat Bears from August 8 until the end of the season. Source: official announcement
