Orix Buffaloes

  • Shuhei Kojima recorded the first walk-off of his career on August 8 against Seibu's Kazuhisa Makita. He also recorded the first hit of his career off Makita on August 16, 2012. Source: Sports Hochi 8/9/2015

Chiba Lotte Marines

  • The Marines announced that they recorded a sell out on August 9. It was their third sellout of the season (April 29 against Seibu, July 11 against Softbank, August 9 against Softbank). Source: official announcement, Sponichi 8/9/2015

Seibu Lions

  • Former Nishitetsu pitcher Sadaaki Nishimura died of liver cancer at a hospital in Fukuoka on August 3. He was eighty-years-old. Nishimura won a Best Nine Award in 1954 after going 22-5 with 1.77 ERA in forty-six games. He made the All-Star team twice (1954 and 1955) and tossed a perfect game against Toei on July 19, 1958. Rakuten Eagles

  • Motohiro Shima played in his 1,000th game on August 9 and became the 472nd player in NPB history to reach the milestone. Source: Daily Sports 8/9/2015
