  • Shintaro Fujinami is the ninth pitcher in NPB history, since the start of the two league format, to record at least ten wins in each of his first three years in the NPB. He joined Tsuneo Horiuchi (1966-1978, thirteen years) and Yutaka Enatsu (1967-1975, nine years) as the only pitchers in Central League history to accomplish the feat. Fujinami became the first pitcher in the Central League to win ten games this season. There have only been four other pitchers out of high school in Central League history that recorded a season within their first three years in the NPB in which they were first to ten wins: Horiuchi in 1968, Masumi Kuwata in 1987, Kenjiro Kawasaki in 1991, and Ryota Igarashi in 2000.
