[8/17/2015] Rakuten Eagles: Takashi Saito to retire after the season

Takashi Saito held a press conference on August 17 to announce that he was going to retire after the season.

Saito was added to the active roster on October 4 and pitched in the last game of his career. He entered the game against Softbank in the 9th and held back tears as he struck out Toru Hosokawa swinging on three fastballs (third pitch was way out of the zone). Takahiro Norimoto, Kazuo Matsui, and Senichi Hoshino presented him with flowers. Teammates tossed him into the air five times.
