Yomiuri Giants

  • Kazuto Taguchi could get a start on August 23 against Hiroshima. He gave up a run on three hits over two innings during a potential tune-up start at Ni-gun against Seibu on August 18. Source: Sponichi 8/19/2015
  • The Giants scored twelve runs on ten hits in the 5th inning of a game against the Hanshin Tigers on August 19. The ten hits in one inning tied a franchise record, set on May 11, 1941 (against Hankyu, 4th inning) and August 8, 1951 (against Hiroshima, 7th inning).   • Miles Mikolas recorded a one-hit complete game victory against Hanshin on August 18. Only two other foreign pitchers have recorded one-hit complete games in franchise history: Toru Nishida on August 28, 1955 and Keith Comstock on April 26, 1985. Mikolas also extended his winning streak to eight games and became the fourth foreign pitcher in NPB history to record an eight-game or better winning streak in their first year in the NPB.
