Kyuji Fujikawa told fans at his blog that his next start with the Kochi Fighting Dogs, currently set for September 16 against Tokushima, would be his last.
From his blog post:
... My next outing will be my last. The game is scheduled to start at 18:00 at Kochi Stadium on [September] 16.
In the three months I've been in Kochi, I was able to enjoy the summer with my wife and kids and I was able to eat a lot of delicious food. I didn't think I could have such a good time while playing baseball. Thank you for the wonderful time!
I am grateful to the Fighting Dogs organization and to everyone involved in the independent league.
These things will be in my thoughts as I do my best in the last game.
I was thinking it would be better to give younger players a chance, but the pitching coach told me it would be okay for my to pitch in the end.
There is no doubt that this will be my last outing with the Kochi Fighting Dogs, so bring your baseball boys and girls out to the game!
The Kochi Fighting Dogs also announced that Fujikawa was going to make his last start on September 16 and that his contract with the team was going to end with the last game of the season.
