The Kochi Fighting Dogs announced earlier today that Kyuji Fujikawa was scratched from his start on September 16 because he sprained his left ankle during practices on September 14. In turn, Fujikawa will be available on September 16 and 17.
Kochi also posted the following statement from Fujikawa:
I played in Kochi for about three months and I planned to take the mound in appreciation of my time here, but unfortunately, I had to be scratched from my start. I'm sure many of you were looking forward to [my start]. But I feel sorry for those that were looking forward [to my start]. However, I will do my best to get myself ready to pitch even just one inning, so please, everyone, come out to the stadium.
