The Central League and Pacific League announced the winners of Sky Perfect's Walk-off Award for September.
Yuhei Nakamura, Yakult Swallows
September 15 vs Yokohama at Jingu Stadium. Score tied at one in the bottom of the 9th. With a runner on third and two out, Nakamura hit a walk-off single to center. The Swallows started the day in first place, a half-game up on the Tigers. The victory allowed Yakult to remain in first place (Hanshin also won their game that day). The walk-off was the second of Nakamura's career.
Brandon Laird, Nippon Ham Fighters
September 22 vs Softbank at Sapporo Dome [Pa-League TV]. Down 3-2 in the bottom of the 9th. With a runner on first and no out, Laird drilled the first pitch he saw out to left for a walk-off, two-run home run. The Fighters quickly fell behind 3-0 in the 1st inning and answered back with single runs of their own in the bottom of the 1st and 2nd. Laird had struck out in each of his three at bats before the home run. This was the first walk-off of his NPB career.
