Softbank Hawks

  • At twenty-two years and six months, Shota Takeda is set become the third youngest pitcher in franchise history to start the first game of a Nippon Series. Taketoshi Ogami is the youngest pitcher in franchise history to start the first game of a Nippon Series. He made his first Game 1 start at nineteen years and eleven months in 1952. Yakult Swallows

  • Potential starters for the first four games: Masanori Ishikawa, Yasuhiro Ogawa, Toshihiro Sugiura, and Shohei Tateyama. The rotation could then go back to Ishikawa and Ogawa for Games 5 and 6.   • The managers meeting took place at YafuOku Dome on October 23. Kimiyasu Kudo suggested announced starters, but Mitsuru Manaka said no.
