The Yomiuri Giants beat the Chunichi Dragons, 4-2, and will now face the Nippon Ham Fighters at the 2012 Nippon Series.
Sanspo has posted the post-game interview:
What are your thoughts after wining the decisive game?
We lost the first three games and we were riding on the edge and the player did there best from that point forward. Some re-focusing was necessary, but we put our strength in and won three in a row. Making the Nippon Series like this means a lot.
When you won the regular season pennant you were tossed into the air eight time. They tossed you in the air ten times today.
I thought about refusing because I knew the players were tired. But they were so excited about doing it that I gratefully accepted.
You mentioned being on the edge, seems you managed to turn the tide. Why were you able to stage a comeback?
We won the pennant with a fairly comfortable lead in 2012. Each of the players fought without any doubts. The Chunichi Dragons are a great team with plenty of experienced veterans. Despite that, the young Giants were able to come back from losing three straight to win three in a row. This is a great victory.
Has this team experienced growth through the Climax Series?
The team took two or three blows, but re-grouped and bounced back. The spirit of this team has gone up one level.
On the Nippon Series.
Our opponents are Nippon Ham. I want to have a good series. We can start again from Tokyo Dome. To all the fans, please give us your loud support!

Fighters advance to the 2012 Nippon Series with 4-2 victory over Hawks

The Nippon Ham Fighters beat the Softbank Hawks tonight, 4-2, and swept the Final Stage of the Climax Series. Nippon Ham will be advancing to the Nippon Series.

You made the Nippon Series without losing a game.
The Nippon Ham Fighter players that the fans love are really great.
You used Hisashi Takeda and Hirotoshi Masui in three straight games.
I pushed all the players so hard, not just the relievers and closer. But all of it has been to become Japan's number one team. I am feeling more responsibility and anxiety now that we have reached the Nippon Series.
Thoughts on the Nippon Series.
I want to think of Hokkaido rising to the top, this will be the last battle before Hokkaido can become the best in Japan. I think the players understand this well. I want to do our absolute best and somehow make it to the top.
