The NPB Awards 2015 will take place on November 25 at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa's Hiten Banquet Hall. The Farm Awards will be handed out during the first session between 12:30 and 13:30. The NPB Awards will be handed out during the second session between 16:30 and 18:45.

The NPB Awards will be sponsored by Taisho Seiyaku for the second year in a row.

Sky Perfect’s Walk-off Award: September 2015

The Central League and Pacific League announced the winners of Sky Perfect's Walk-off Award for September.

Yuhei Nakamura, Yakult Swallows

September 15 vs Yokohama at Jingu Stadium. Score tied at one in the bottom of the 9th. With a runner on third and two out, Nakamura hit a walk-off single to center. The Swallows started the day in first place, a half-game up on the Tigers. The victory allowed Yakult to remain in first place (Hanshin also won their game that day). The walk-off was the second of Nakamura's career.

Brandon Laird, Nippon Ham Fighters

September 22 vs Softbank at Sapporo Dome [Pa-League TV]. Down 3-2 in the bottom of the 9th. With a runner on first and no out, Laird drilled the first pitch he saw out to left for a walk-off, two-run home run. The Fighters quickly fell behind 3-0 in the 1st inning and answered back with single runs of their own in the bottom of the 1st and 2nd. Laird had struck out in each of his three at bats before the home run. This was the first walk-off of his NPB career.

NPB: Nihon Seimei MVP Award for September 2015

Nihon Seimei MVP Awards

Masanori Ishikawa, Yakult Swallows (Third Time)
5 G, 5-0, 0 ShO, 29.2 IP, 13 SO, 4 ER, 1.21 ERA

Only pitcher in the Central League to win five games in a month this year. Started five games in September and pitched at least five innings in each without allowing more than one run. Came up with a big win on September 27 against Yomiuri.

Tetsuto Yamada, Yakult Swallows (Fourth Time, third in a row)
20 G, 24-for-72, 4 HR, 13 RBI, 8 SB, .347 BA

Third straight MVP of the Month award. He led the league in batting average (.347) and stolen bases (8). He stole his thirtieth base of the season on September 6. He joins Alex Ramirez (July - September 2007) as the only players to win MVP of the Month awards three consecutive times.

Pacific League

Nihon Seimei MVP Awards

Ayumu Ishikawa, Chiba Lotte Marines (First Time)
5 G, 4-1, 0 ShO, 33.0 IP, 18 SO, 8 ER, 2.18 ERA

He started five games in September and led the league with four wins. He recorded back-to-back wins on September 2 (Nippon Ham, two runs, seven innings) and 8 (Rakuten, one runs, even innings), then lost a game against Nippon Ham on September 16, before recording wins on September 22 (Rakuten, zero runs, seven innings) and 28 (Seibu, two runs, six innings). First Lotte pitcher to win an MVP of the Month since Yoshihisa Naruse in September 2007.

Yuki Yanagita, Softbank Hawks (Third Time, second in a row)
24 G, 32-for-88, 6 HR, 21 RBI, 9 SB, .364 AVG

He played in twenty-two games in September and led the league in batting average (.364), runs (22), total bases (57), stolen bases (9), on base percentage (.545), and slugging percentage (.750). He recorded a game-winning home run on September 2 against Seibu in the 12th inning. Second straight MVP of the Month. He joins Doug Jennings (July-August 1995) and Ichiro Suzuki (June-July 1998) as the only hitters to win MVP of the Month awards in two back-to-back months.

Mizuno MVP Farm Awards for September 2015

Eastern League

Kentaro Fukukura - Seibu Lions

Fukukura pitched in six games as both a starter and reliever. Was consistent on the mound and did not allow any runs in September.

Western League

Yoshitaka Isomura - Hiroshima Carp
14 G, 21-for-44, 1 HR, 6 RBI, 1 SB, .477

Isomura played in fourteen games in September. He led the league with a .477 batting average. Helped his team win with his bat and glove.

Sky Perfect’s Walk-off Award: August 2015

The Central League and Pacific League announced the winners of Sky Perfect's Walk-off Award for August.

Hayato Sakamoto, Yomiuri Giants

August 1 vs Chunichi at Nagoya Dome. Down 4-3 in the bottom of the 9th. Bases loaded, one out. Sakamoto hit a double to left-center to give the Giants a walk-off 5-4 victory. Yomiuri managed to tie the game at two when Shinnosuke Abe and Seiji Kobayashi hit solo home runs in the bottom of the 6th, but quickly gave up the lead by giving up two more runs in the top of the 7th. Yasuyuki Kataoka made it 4-3 in the top of the 9th with an RBI single to left, just before Sakamoto's at bat.

Yuki Yanagita, Softbank Hawks

August 11 vs Orix at YafuOku Dome [Pa-League TV]. Down 6-4 in the bottom of the 9th. Runners on first and second and two out. Yanagita blasted a 1-1 pitch over the fence in right-center for a walk-off three-run home run. The Hawks started the inning down by four runs. Akira Nakamura shortened the lead to two runs with a two-out, bases loaded, two-run single to left. That set the table for Yanagita.

Mizuno MVP Farm Awards for August 2015

Eastern League

Kota Futaki - Chiba Lotte Marines
4 G, 2-1, 26.1 IP, 22 SO, 3 BB, 5 ER, 1.71 ERA

Futaki started four games in August and led the league with 26.1 innings of work. He carried a no-hitter into the 9th with one out againts Rakuten on August 15.

Western League

Seiji Uebayashi - Softbank Hawks
14 G, 19-for-51, 3 HR, 11 RBI, 2 SB, .373

Uebayashi reached base in all fourteen games he played in August. He hit two home runs, including a grand slam, and recorded six RBIs against Hiroshima on August 5.

Shunta Wakamatsu, Chunichi Dragons (First Time)

Only pitcher in the league to win four games in August. Stopped an eight-game losing streak by tossing a shutout against the Yomiuri Giants on August 2. He went on to win his next three starts in a row.

Tetsuto Yamada, Yakult Swallows (Third Time)
26 G, 31-for-100, 9 HR, 22 RBI, 6 SB, .310 BA

Second straight MVP of the Month award. He batted third in all twenty-six games in August and led the league in home runs (9), RBI (22), and stolen bases (6, tied). Hit home runs in four consecutive at bats (HR, HR, BB, HR, HR). He is the fifteenth player in Central League history to win MVP awards in back-to-back months, first since Shuichi Murata in 2013 (July and August).

Pacific League

Nihon Seimei MVP Awards

Kona Takahashi, Seibu Lions (First Time)
5 G, 4-1, 1 ShO, 27.1 IP, 16 SO, 9 ER, 2.96 ERA

He started five games in August and led the league with four victories. He won four straight after losing his debut start on August 2. He is the third rookie out of high school in Pacific League history to win an MVP of the Month award, behind Kazuhiro Kiyohara (September 1986) and Daisuke Matsuzaka (July 1999). At eighteen years and six months, he is the youngest player in either league to win the award. The previous record of eighteen years and ten months was set by Matsuzaka.

24 G, 32-for-88, 6 HR, 21 RBI, 9 SB, .364 AVG

Batted third in all twenty-four games in August. He led the league in batting average (.364), total bases (56), stolen bases (9), slugging percentage (.636), on base percentage (.467), and RBI (21, tied). He also won the award for May 2014.

Sky Perfect’s Walk-off Award: July 2015

The Central League and Pacific League announced the winners of Sky Perfect's Walk-off Award for July.

Atsushi Fujii, Chunichi Dragons

July 12 vs Hiroshima at Nagoya Dome. No score, bottom of the 12th, runner on first and two out. Fujii blasted a walk-off two-run home run to right to give the Dragons a 2-0 win over the Carp. Seven Chunichi pitchers combined for the shutout. The offense had a number of chances to score runs, but failed.

Takeya Nakamura, Seibu Lions

July 14 vs Rakuten at Seibu Dome [Pa-League TV]. Score tied at two. Runners on first and second and two out in the bottom of the 10th. Nakamura went deep to give the Lions a 5-2 win over the Eagles. The Lions struck first with two runs in the 6th, but gave up runs in the 7th and 9th. Shogo Akiyama got the offense started in the 10th with a one out walk.
