[9/26/2015] Orix Buffaloes sign Brandon Dickson to an extension

The Orix Buffaloes announced today that they reached a contract extension agreement with thirty-year-old Brandon Dickson. According to the reports, the two sides agreed to a two-year deal worth an estimated 1.25 million US dollars a year. The total contract, including incentives, will be worth an estimated three million US dollars.

[12/6/2014] Orix Buffaloes add Bullington, Blanco; Dickson, Maestri, German to return

The Orix Buffaloes announced that they reached agreements with Bryan Bullington (34) and Tony Blanco (34). Bullington was assigned the number 27, Blanco the number 42.

The Buffaloes also finalized terms with Brandon Dickson (30), Alessandro Maestri (29), and Esteban German (36).

The media is reporting that Bullington agreed to a one-year deal worth 150 million yen and Blanco a two-year deal worth 500 million yen. Maestri signed a one-year deal worth thirty million yen. German and Dickson will be in the final years of two-year deals -- German's deal is worth 100 million yen and Dickson's sixty million yen.

Hanshin Tigers

  • Daiki Enokida (left shoulder) played catch at a distance of about twenty meters on Monday.  He expanded the distance to roughly forty meters on Tuesday. Source: Sanspo 8/13/2014

Softbank Hawks

  • Shuhei Fukuda was diagnosed with an injury near his right knee (右大腿骨外側膝蓋溝軟骨損傷).  He will undergo debridement surgery at a hospital in Fukuoka on Friday.  He will remain in the hospital for a week and will require about six months for a full recovery.   • Juan Miranda (lower back) played in his first Ni-gun rehab game on Tuesday.  He was the starting designated hitter against Yomiuri and batted third.  He went 0-for-2.  He could rejoin the active roster on Friday. [12/6/2013] Orix Buffaloes sign Esteban German, extend Brandon Dickson and Alessandro Maestri

The Orix Buffaloes announced today that they signed Esteban German (35) to a two-year contract.  No word yet on the value of the contract.

The Buffaloes plan to use German at third base.

The Buffaloes announced that signed Brandon Dickson (29) and Alessandro Maestri (28) to extensions.  Dickson agreed to a two-year deal worth an estimated sixty million yen and Maestri a one-year deal worth an estimated twenty million yen.

German reportedly signed a two-year deal worth an estimated 100 million yen plus incentives.

Seibu Lions

The Lions could lose up to six players over the next two years: Hideaki Wakui and Yasuyuki Kataoka earned their domestic FA options this year and could leave this winter; Ginjiro Sumitani and Takayuki Kishi should earn their domestic FA options next year; Takeya Nakamura's three-year contract and Takumi Kuriyama's two-year contract will end after the 2014 season (both have options).

Orix Buffaloes

Of the ten foreign players the Buffaloes carried on the active roster this year, only four will have spaces waiting for them in 2004: Brandon DicksonAlessandro Maestri, Aarom Baldiris, and Dae-Ho Lee.  Depending on how negotiations go, Baldiris and Lee may not be with the team next year.

Orix Buffaloes announce Brandon Dickson, Vinny Rottino signings

The Orix Buffaloes announced that they signed Brandon Dickson (28) and Vinny Rottino (32) to contracts for the 2013 season.

Dickson and Rottino reportedly agreed to one-year contracts worth an estimated US$350,000 plus incentives.  Press conferences for the two players will be held in late-January.  Both are expected to attend spring camp from the first day.

The Buffaloes see Rottino as a utility player that can play the infield and outfield, as well catch.  With regards to Dickson, they see him as an arm for the starting rotation.

An Orix Buffaloes' official informed reporters today that the organization agreed to deals with Vinny Rottino (32) and Brandon Dickson (28).  An official announcement will likely be made some time before the end of the month.  Source: Nikkan Sports 12/6/2012

While it is uncertain how much Dickson signed for, a report from the Journal Times does make mention of Rottino's deal.  A snip:

The 32-year-old Rottino signed a one-year contract Friday with the Orix Buffaloes, a Nippon Professional team in the Pacific League. The contract guarantees him $350,000 with the potential of another $100,000 in incentives.

Rottino is scheduled to meet with representatives of the Buffaloes Wednesday in Milwaukee. He plans to leave Jan. 21 for spring training in Osaka, Japan.
