Seibu Lions
The Lions could lose up to six players over the next two years: Hideaki Wakui and Yasuyuki Kataoka earned their domestic FA options this year and could leave this winter; Ginjiro Sumitani and Takayuki Kishi should earn their domestic FA options next year; Takeya Nakamura's three-year contract and Takumi Kuriyama's two-year contract will end after the 2014 season (both have options).

Orix Buffaloes
Of the ten foreign players the Buffaloes carried on the active roster this year, only four will have spaces waiting for them in 2004: Brandon Dickson, Alessandro Maestri, Aarom Baldiris, and Dae-Ho Lee. Depending on how negotiations go, Baldiris and Lee may not be with the team next year.
