According to a Sponichi report, the Orix Buffaloes will not be bringing Freddie Bynum next season. Seems it has something to with the Buffaloes being close to signing a number of other foreign players and there not being enough available spaces on the roster.

Alex Cabrera was left off the Orix Buffaloes' Holdover List and became a free agent today. And with the Buffaloes signing Seung-Yeop Lee, Cabrera's tenure with the team is likely over.
Freddie Bynum was also left off the Holdover List and he too is also a free agent. And while the Buffaloes were negotiating to keep Bynum, talks broke down and the Buffaloes opted to leave him off the Holdover List. At this point, it seems likely that Bynum will not be returning to the Buffaloes next season.
The Orix Buffaloes announced earlier today that Freddie Bynum will be returning to the US on 11/1.

The Buffaloes held their press conference for Bynum on Friday. He was assigned the number 5. No details on his contract yet. Bynum will likely spend some time at Ni-gun before making the jump to Ichi-gun.

Buffaloes' GM Yoshio Murayama returned to Japan on Tuesday and told reporters that the team and Freddie Bynum have agreed to basic terms and that a formal announcement will likely be made within the next few days.
I'll be updating this post with details as they become available.
The Orix Buffaloes have apparently begun negotiating with Freddie Bynum. According to Nikkan Sports, a deal appears eminent. If everything goes smoothly, Buffaloes' GM Yoshio Murayama could fly out to the US to finalize the deal in early March.
Bynum landed on the Buffaloes' radar earlier this month when the team worked on building a list of potential foreign candidates (with the help of their advisor, George Foster).
The Buffaloes are hoping to have him signed and ready for the start of the regular season on 3/20.
Akinobu Okada is calling him a super-sub -- seems the team is interested in him because he can play a number of different positions and can steal bases.
