Shingo Nonaka showed off his legs during base-stealing practice today.  Out of the 11 players that ran the drills, Nonaka had the best time between first and second at 3.25s.  The Buffaloes also appear to want Nonaka to revert back to being a switch-hitter (he's registered as a right-handed batter), if possible.

It seems the Buffaloes also won't be dipping into the domestic FA market.

Akinobu Okada told reporters that he feels Hikaru Ito might have what it takes to compete for the starting catcher's job.  Said Okada, "He has the potential.  And he's got a decent bat.  Spring camp?  It'll probably be Ichi-gun [camp].  He's a candidate to become a starter."  Seems that caught battery coach Katsuhiko Yamada a little off-guard though.
