Hirotami Kojima to manage Japan at East Asian Games

The Baseball Federation of Japan announced today that Hirotami Kojima will manage the national team at the East Asian Games in Tianjin, China (October 6-15).

Koichi Nishitani has already been named manager for the national team at the 18U Baseball World Cup.

The Baseball Federation of Japan announced on Thursday that Hirotami Kojima will manage the national team that will be competing at the 2012 Asian Baseball Championship (November 28-December 2, Taiwan).

The Women's Baseball Association Japan announced that the female national team (the one that will be competing at the Women's Baseball World Cup in August) will be playing two exhibition games against a mixed Girls Professional Baseball League team on April 21 and 22 at Wakasa Stadium Kyoto.  Players from the GPBL will also be scouted for the national team.

The NPB's Samurai Japan steering committee met for the first time on Tuesday in Tokyo and  discussed a number of issues, including the possibility of scheduling international exhibition games in the fall.

The Baseball Federation of Japan met today and formally decided that Hirotami Kojima will manage the national team at the 2011 IBAF World Cup in Panama later this year (10/2 - 10/15).

The media learned today that Hirotami Kojima will likely be tabbed to manage Japan at this year's IBAF World Cup Tournament (in Panama).

The Baseball Federation Japan's vice president, Yoshinobu Suzuki, is expected to visit Kojima some time tomorrow at the Nagasaki prefectural government offices (Kojima was transferred to Nagasaki prefecture's environmental department in April).


BFJ selects Hirotami Kojima to manage Japan at 2010 Asia Games

The Baseball Federation of Japan (BFJ) selected Hirotami Kojima on Friday to manage the amateur team at the 2010 Asia Games.  Kojima was an infielder that played for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Nagasaki after graduating from Waseda University.  In 1992, he was selected to play for Japan at the Barcelona Olympics.  And in 2006 he made the coaching staff for the Asia Games.
