[10/28/2014] Samurai Japan News and Notes

The Japan Baseball Manager Committee (JBMC) announced that Samurai Japan posters will be on display at the Hakata subway station between October 28 and November 9. The posters will be for the upcoming Samurai Japan at YafuOku Dome on November 10 against a mixed team of players from Softbank and Nippon Ham. There will be a total fourteen versions.

The 21U Samurai Japan team will hold a mini-camp at the Meiji University facilities between October 30 and November 4 in preparation for the 21U World Cup. They are also slated to play practice games against the Ni-gun Yomiuri Giants at Giants Stadium on November 3 (2pm) and 4 (1pm).

[6/30/2014] Samurai Japan: Katsuo Hirata to manage 21U national team

Samurai Japan announced that Hanshin Tigers' Ni-gun manager Katsuo Hirata will manage the 21U national team at the 1st IBAF 21U World Cup in November.  Kiyoshi Toyoda was named pitching coach.  Two more coaches will be selected, one from a university team and another from an Industrial league team.

The 21U World Cup is scheduled to take place in Taichung, Taiwan later this year between November 11 and 16.
