Hiroshima Carp interested in Jeff Fiorentino

by on Nov.22, 2009 @ 4:29 am, under NPB

The Hiroshima Carp are apparently interested in Jeff Fiorentino and have already begun negotiations with him.

Fiorentino is a 26-year-old outfielder that bats left and throws right; he is currently in the Baltimore Orioles organization.  He's played in 58 MLB games in his career and has a .270 batting average (40-148) to go along with 23 R, 21 RBI, 5 2B, 0 3B, 1 HR, and 4 SB (0 CS).

Erik Schullstrom, the Hiroshima's US-based scout, liked Fiorentino's .301 batting average against lefties and feels his skill-set will translate well in Japan.
