Keisuke Imai returned from Guam on the 18th (he and his wife held their wedding ceremony there).  Regardless, Imai was back at work at Mazda Stadium and told reporters that he needed to work harder this year, now that he was a married man and with Yuyu Fukui (1st round) joining the team.  It seems Hiroki Kuroda also advised him to try thinking about things from the perspective of the batter and catcher.

Kenta Kurihara worked out at Mazda Stadium on Wednesdsay.  He did some running and then spent some time taking BP.  Kurihara has been doing a lot more running this off-season in order to keep his weight at 95kg.

The Ono training facilities and player dorms in Hatsukaichi, Hiroshima are undergoing renovations this winter.  The first round of construction began in late November and will end in early January.

Of the 13 players that live there, 9 have already returned to their homes.  The four that remain, Yoshihiro Maru, Takeru Imamura, Shota Dobayashi, and Hayato Shoji, will need to leave by the 24th.

The food services group at Mazda Stadium is apparently in discussions with Rosen Company, makers of the Manneken Belgian Waffle, about the possibility of creating a Maeken (Kenta Maeda) Waffle.
