Chiba Lotte Marines

  • Yoshihisa Naruse will be taken off the active roster with pain in his left shoulder. Source: Sponichi 6/24/2014 ... Naruse felt the pain while pitching on Monday.  The shoulder was not feeling any better when he tried to played catch during practices on Tuesday. Source: Sports Hochi 6/24/2014 ... "I thought [maybe I could pitch through it], but it felt no better today when I tried playing catch.  I reported [the pain] because I thought this could become a burden if I kept quiet.  This is frustrating, but I would like to get better so I can support the team," Naruse said. Softbank Hawks

  • Seiichi Uchikawa (right gluteus maximus) played in a Ni-gun practice game against Honda Kumamoto on Tuesday.  He was the starting designated hitter and batted third.  He went 0-for-3.  He will play in another Ni-gun game on Wednesday and could return to the active roster in time for the Seibu series that begins on the 27th. Nippon Ham Fighters

  • Atsunori Inaba (left knee) played in his first Ni-gun rehab game on Tuesday against Yokohama.  He was the starting designated hitter and batted third.  He went 1-for-2: strikeout looking, single to center.  He was replaced by a pinch-runner in the 3rd. Source: Nikkan Sports 6/24/2014
  • Dai-Kang Yoh (left knee) could play in his first Ni-gun rehab game on July 1 against Yomiuri at Kamagaya.  He suffered a laceration on his left knee during a game on the 9th that required eleven stitches.  Eight of stitches were removed on the 21st.  There were left in place because the cut was not fully healed. Hanshin Tigers

  • 1st round draft pick Yuta Iwasada (left elbow) pitched in a Ni-gun batting practice scrimmage at Koshien on Sunday.  He faced ten hitters, including Shinta Hifumi, Shintaro Yokota, and 3rd round draft pick Naomasa Yokawa, threw forty-four pitches, and allowed one-could be hit. Rakuten Eagles

Softbank Hawks

Orix Buffaloes

  • Esteban German sat out Sunday's game after he took a batted ball off his left knee and a foul ball off his left foot on Saturday.  He should be okay for the Yomiuri series that begins on Tuesday.  Keiichi Hirano complained of tightness in his left calf on Sunday.  He should also be okay for the Yomiuri series. Chiba Lotte Marines

  • Tomoya Satozaki will have surgery to clean out his left knee on the 12th.  He might require about a month for a full recovery. Source: Sports Hochi 5/10/2014

Softbank Hawks

  • Tadashi Settsu was taken off the active roster on Saturday as a precaution with discomfort in his right shoulder.  He will be examined on Monday. Source: Sports Hochi 5/10/2014
  • Kodai Senga took a batted ball off his upper right arm in the 9th inning of Friday's game against the Seibu Lions.  He stayed in the game and should be okay moving forward. Source: Nikkan Sports 5/10/2014

Nippon Ham Fighters

  • Toshiharu Moriuchi's outing on Saturday against the Orix Buffaloes was cut short due to discomfort in his right elbow.  He was taken to a hospital in Kobe and diagnosed with an injury to the ulnar collateral ligament.  The Fighters are planning to re-evaluate him after monitoring him for a few days.   • Atsunori Inaba (left knee) swung the bat about forty times during soft-toss batting practice on Friday.  He is still probably about three weeks away from playing in his first Ni-gun rehab game. Source: Nikkan Sports 5/10/2014

Seibu Lions

Yusei Kikuchi (left shoulder inflammation) threw forty-five pitches to a squatting catcher in the bullpen today.  He mixed in off-speed pitches for the first time since his injury.  He started throwing to a squatting catcher on the 3rd.  This was his third session of the week.

Softbank Hawks

Kodai Senga was examined at a hospital in Fukuoka and diagnosed with a strain in his left abdominal oblique muscle.  He will require about two to three weeks for a full recovery.

Chiba Lotte Marines

Toshiaki Imae hurt his right ankle during Thursday's game against Orix and was examined at a Tokyo hospital today.  He was diagnosed with a right ankle sprain and will require a week to ten days for a full recovery.  The team feels he could be ready to return to the starting line-up on the 10th.

Yuji Nishino had another rough start on Thursday (4.1 IP, 26 BF, 9 H, 1 HR, 2 SO, 3 BB, 7 R, 7 ER) and was taken off the active roster today for a chance to regroup.  There was also some concern about his right shoulder.  Nishino told reporters that while his shoulder was not causing him too many problems, he may have been over-compensating without noticing, leading to poor balance in his delivery.

Yokohama Bay Stars

Kazunari Tsuruoka was removed from tonight's game against the Hanshin Tigers as a precaution after he took a foul ball off his chest while playing defense in the 8th inning.  He did not go to the hospital and is considered day-to-day.

Tsuyoshi Nishioka did not play in his second straight game because he is nursing a cut on his left hand.  He took batting practice and fielding practice at third base during pre-game practices today.  He did not play in tonight's game against the Yokohama Bay Stars because the team did not want to risk the cut reopening.

  • Ryota Igarashi: situational batting practice, faced five batters, gave up hits to 3rd round draft pick Tomoki Takata and Akira Nakamura, topped out at 147km/h

Wily Mo Pena did not like taking soft-toss batting practice with balls being lobbed from the side and reverted back to having the ball lobbed from out in front during practices today.

Thursday's practice game against the Rakuten Eagles at Kurashiki: Kodai Senga did not allow a run or a hit over an inning of work in relief.  He also topped out at 151km/h. [Sponichi]
