The 2013 National Athletic Tournament (Kokutai) will take place in Tokyo this year (from September 29 until October 8). The high school baseball competition will take place between September 29 and October 3. The Japan High School Baseball Federation released the list of twelve schools that will be competing in the tournament this year.

The 2012 National Athletic Tournament will be taking place in Gifu this year between September 30 and October 3.

The following are the twelve schools (and two alternates) that will be participating in the tournament.
