Some High School Baseball News (8/26/2009)

by on Aug.26, 2009 @ 2:14 pm, under High School

...Yusei Kikuchi returned to Iwate on Tuesday and announced that he'll be heading out to Tokyo to get treatment done on his back. No word on when that will happen yet.

...There has been an outbreak of the swine flu at Gifu Shogyo High School. As of the 26th, there were 96 reported cases of the swine flu amongst students.

Over 800 students from the school attended the Koshien and a number of them apparently caught the flu during that period. As a preventative measure, the school has canceled classes between 8/26 and 9/1.

...For the first time in Koshien rubber baseball history, Meiho University High School student Yuta Kobayashi (小林雄太) tossed a perfect game against Hatsushiba Tondabayashi High School to beat them 7-0.

Kobayashi recorded 2 strike outs, 8 ground ball outs, 8 infield fly ball outs, 2 out field fly ball outs and 7 foul outs and needed only 88 pitches.
