  • The Hawks and Buffaloes set a YafuOku Dome record for home runs in a game with eight on May 21 (four each). The previous high of seven was set by Daiei and Orix on September 3, 2000. Source: Sponichi 5/21/2015

  • Haruki Nishikawa blasted the first grand slam of his career during a game against Softbank on May 23. Nishikawa hit the grand slam on a 3-0 pitch and became the just the third player in the Pacific League to accomplish the feat. Rakuten Eagles

  • On May 24, Yuki Matsui became the fourth pitcher out of high school in NPB history to record ten or more saves in his second year.
